Help us as we keep helping Haiti!
On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked the Caribbean Island resulting in a loss of life in excess of 200,000 - and the count is not yet final. Donations have poured in worldwide to help the little nation, long troubled by political and economic strife. Now in the second phase of relief response, efforts for Haiti must still be funded - not the least of which is maintaining a critical food supply.
Food4Haiti works with members of the culinary world to raise funds in support of feeding Haitian earthquake victims through on-the-ground organizations like the United Nation's World Food Programme and others. By aggregating our collective resources we can be an example of how community is the key to generosity, especially for our children. Read more about how we do it in the do-it-yourself (DIY) section of this site.
In the hopes of teaching our children by example, we will be continuing to act as a volunteer education and fundraising group by auctioning and selling donated items from cookbooks to restaurant visits, and more, to bidders and buyers, then sending proceeds to other non-profit Haitian food relief organizations.
