Ramin GaneshramWestporter Ramin Ganeshram is a veteran journalist, food writer and chef professionally trained at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. For eight years she contributed to The New York Times regional sections, garnering five Society of Professional Journalist awards for her work, and was a food columnist and feature writer for New York Newsday. She is a contributing food travel editor to Islands Magazine and the author of the bestselling Sweet Hands: Island Cooking from Trinidad & Tobago (Hippocrene NY 2006; second paperback edition, April 2010) and the forthcoming book The Curry Chronicles, a young adult culinary novel from Scholastic Books, coming in 2011. Ramin specializes in the food and culture of the Caribbean.
